Piers Morgan Labels Sussexes ‘Grifters’ Over Netflix Struggle Claims

Piers Morgan recently took a shot at the Sussexes, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, over claims of their struggle with Netflix. A report by Variety magazine, published on March 17, claimed that the Sussex couple has been struggling in Hollywood as they had a “five and a half tumultuous years at Netflix.” While addressing this particular report, English broadcaster Piers Morgan branded the Duke of Sussex and the Duchess of Sussex “grifters.”

Piers Morgan recently aimed at Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, over the Sussex couple’s alleged struggles with Netflix. The English broadcaster’s comment came after the release of a report by Variety magazine, titled “Inside Meghan and Harry’s Falling Out With Netflix — and Why the Royal Couple Is Struggling in Hollywood.”

While referring to this specific Variety report, Piers Morgan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Wow.. this is a brutal (and often hilarious) demolition of the Sussex grifters, by the Hollywood bible.” In the meantime, the report by the news outlet explored Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s partnership with the streaming giant, Netflix. According to the news outlet, insiders told them that Netflix did not expect the bombshell interview between the Sussex couple and Oprah Winfrey. However, the claim has reportedly been disputed by the royal couple’s spokesperson, who called it “categorically false.”

Meanwhile, per the news outlet, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s representative said, “Netflix and Archewell had legal counsel involved to oversee the evolution of the deal.” The person further added, “As is common practice for any deal changes in Hollywood.”

In the meantime, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, on Wednesday, March 18, Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s chief content officer, addressed a report by Variety during a presentation of the streamer’s upcoming television and film slate. “I would say don’t believe whatever you read,” said the chief content officer.
