New developments in the Nancy Guthrie case are raising more questions about what may have happened on the night she was taken. Investigators have reportedly recovered additional images from security cameras at her Arizona home. However, the material may be adding more mystery than clarity. According to sources, the pictures do not appear to capture any clear evidence tied to the alleged abduction.
FBI-recovered images from Nancy Guthrie’s home reportedly captured nothing on night of abduction
The FBI reportedly recently recovered additional imagery from motion-activated cameras installed around Nancy Guthrie’s home, per ABC News. The cameras were positioned in areas including the backyard, side yard, and near the swimming pool.
However, rather than video, investigators were only able to access still thumbnail images triggered by any movement. Those images, sources claimed, did not show anything suspicious. While the cameras did capture routine activity in the days leading up to the incident, including individuals moving around the yard, there were reportedly no images recorded on the night Guthrie was allegedly abducted.
One source claimed that absence was “odd.” However, officials have not publicly explained why no images were captured during that time. After Guthrie’s disappearance, images did reportedly show law enforcement officers near the pool area, indicating the cameras were functional at some point. Still, investigators have not confirmed whether the system failed, was tampered with, or simply did not detect motion that night.
The lack of visual evidence stands in contrast to earlier material released by investigators. Previously, the FBI shared footage of a masked individual outside Guthrie’s home, allegedly tampering with a security camera. Sources familiar with the case have also claimed that the individual may have been present in the area before the abduction.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing early morning on February 1. Her daughter, “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie, has since raised the reward for any information to over $1 million. Investigators continue to urge anyone with credible information to come forward as the search remains ongoing.
