Oprah receives backlash from internet on Kristin Cabot interview for her podcast
Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Kristin Cabot didn’t seem to sit well with the internet. Recently, she invited the ex-Astronomer Chief People Officer to her podcast. Surrounded by a bunch of people, the ladies discussed the infamous “kiss cam” incident at a Coldplay concert last year. Cabot explained that her daughter informed her that her estranged husband was also attending the same event.
At this point, Oprah intervened and highlighted the information about Cabot and her ex-spouse’s separation. Moreover, the podcast host also pointed out that the Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron, was “also separated or said he was separated from his wife.” They continued their conversation, where the guest mentioned that she thought of greeting her estranged husband at the concert. But then she thought that it would be difficult to meet at such a crowded arena.
While Oprah let Cabot reevaluate her side of the story on her show, fans were not happy. They criticized the 72-year-old, saying, “Oprah doing what she does best: staging stories to validate people.
Furthermore, a user commented, “Oprah, you’re better than this. The world is on fire.” Another wrote, “Among thousands of of women who needs to get her voice out from around the world, Oprah chose the kiss cam woman, to make us sympathise with her.”
For those unversed, Cabot and Byron were caught on the kiss cam at the Massachusetts Coldplay concert on July 15, 2025. In the viral clip, Byron was intimately hugging her from behind.
