Nancy Guthrie’s Abduction Could Be Carried Out by ‘Two People,’ Neighbor Claims

More than six weeks after Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, new claims are adding another layer of intrigue to an already troubling case. The 84-year-old mother of “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie was abducted from her Tucson home, and investigators are still piecing together what may have happened. While officials continue to follow leads, a neighbor’s recent remarks have sparked fresh speculation. According to these claims, the individual seen on surveillance footage may not have acted alone.

In a recent interview with NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin, a neighbor identified as Laura shared her personal observations about the case. Speaking for Entin’s “Brian Entin Investigates” series, she pointed to a detail she believes may have been overlooked.

According to Laura, the presence of a sturdy front-door security gate makes it unlikely, in her view, that the individual seen in surveillance footage attempted entry from that point. “If you have a gate like that… you’re not getting into that,” she said. As such, she suggested that forced entry through the front door would have been extremely challenging.

Her comments refer to previously released FBI footage showing a masked individual outside the home. However, Laura claimed she does not believe that person acted alone or even played the central role. “He was standing there, and I don’t think he was the main person,” she said. “I think he was the guy outside who was waiting for them to come out.” She further speculated that if someone did enter the home, it may have happened through another access point, possibly with the help of an accomplice.

Meanwhile, authorities continue to pursue their own leads. Sheriff Chris Nanos has previously stated that investigators have a “strong belief” about the motive behind the abduction. He has also described the case as a potentially “targeted” incident and suggested the suspect could pose an ongoing risk. There has also been mention of DNA evidence recovered at the scene, which officials hope could lead to a breakthrough.
