Sentry’s Insane Scene in Doomsday Will Cement Him as the Strongest Avengers – Report

A new rumor has surfaced, giving insight into Sentry‘s role and the impressive feat he will achieve in Avengers: Doomsday. Lewis Pullman’s powerful but troubled hero is among the confirmed characters for the film, hitting theaters later this year. Accordingly, there is speculation about how the character will function within the overarching narrative.

Sentry rumored to stop an incursion with bare hands in Avengers: Doomsday

A new rumor suggests that Sentry will stop an incursion bare-handed.

It comes from notable industry scooper, MyTimetoShineHello. They shared on X (formerly Twitter), “In Avengers Doomsday, at one point Sentry has to stop an Incursion WITH HIS HANDS.”

This rumor comes shortly after an insider on the platform suggested that the character’s role in the film’s concluding act was “CRAZY.” This implies that Marvel might be exploring Sentry’s full potential in the film, addressing a key complaint about his characterization in Thunderbolts*.

Lewis Pullman recently addressed how Sentry and the other characters would be handled in Doomsday. Speaking to Collider, he assured that each character doesn’t appear for the sake of it and plays an important role.

“I can say that as a fan, it’s a fan’s dream movie,” he stated. “Because every character that is in it has crucial, integral developments that are really exciting.” He continued, “Nobody is kept on ice and is just there to be there. Everyone is there for a reason and their own very individual reason, and it’s really exciting.”

Also in the interview, he offered some insight into the Russo Brothers’ creative process and the family-esque dynamic on set. He compared this to the on-set atmosphere and work on his new film, Wishful Thinking.

“I can tease that the way that the Russos work is kind of strangely similar to how this really small movie works. They have not lost their creative source by any means,” he explained. “Those guys are in this same kind of style, like family style, very incorporating of everybody.”

He continued, highlighting the filmmakers’ trust in the actors’ knowledge of their characters and giving them “freedom” to portray the role however they wanted. Pullman also called them “very beautifully gentle leaders.” He added, “They are gently creating this corral of structure for you to live in.”

Avengers: Doomsday premieres on December 18, 2026. The Russos directed the film from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. They also co-produced it with Marvel Studios via AGBO.

Meanwhile, the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, premieres on December 17, 2027.
