Donald Trump Says US May Hit Iran’s Island ‘Few More Times Just for Fun’

In a recent interview, Donald Trump threatened to hit Iran’s Kharg Island “a few more times” following the Saturday bombing. The President also discussed potential future military actions as tensions between the nations continue to escalate.

Donald Trump comments on US hitting Iran island

On Saturday, the US military forces carried out “large-scale” attacks on Iran’s Kharg Island, a key oil export hub in the country. In a recent phone interview with NBC News, Donald Trump stated that the US may launch more strikes on the island.

On Saturday morning, the US Central Command confirmed that the US military has launched “precision strikes” on 90 military targets but has taken care in “preserving the oil infrastructure.” However, during the interview later, Trump stated that “we totally demolished Kharg Island, but we may hit it a few more times just for fun.”

The President added, “We’ve totally decimated it. Except, as you know, I didn’t do anything having to do with the energy lines, because having to rebuild that would take years.”

Trump also stated that he is asking “numerous countries that are affected by the thuggery of Iran” to secure the Strait of Hormuz, a major passageway for global oil transport. He stated, “We’re going to be sweeping the strait very strongly, and we believe we’ll be joined by other countries who are somewhat impeded, and in some cases impeded from getting the oil.”

During the interview, the POTUS further declared that he is not ready to make a deal with Iran to end the war. Iran wants to make a deal, and I don’t want to make it because the terms aren’t good enough yet,” he said. Trump said that any terms of a potential agreement to end the conflict would need to be “very solid.”

The statement came shortly after Trump refused to commit to a definite timeline for the Iran war to end. Speaking with Fox News Radio, the President said that he will know that the conflict is over when he feels it in his “bones.”
