With the FBI issuing a warning regarding a possible strike from Iran in California, Jimmy Kimmel has quipped that Donald Trump could carry out the attack himself before blaming it on the Middle Eastern nation. In his latest monologue, the veteran comedian joked about how ill-prepared the US government and citizens are for a potential attack, before doubling down on the President’s inadequacies in handling the global issue.
Jimmy Kimmel jokes about FBI warning about strike on California
On the March 11 episode of his talk show, the veteran TV host discussed the looming threat to California. He mockingly added that the POTUS has the potential to attack the state himself and accuse Iran of the strike, later.
Referring to the upcoming ceremony for the 98th Academy Awards amid attack threats from Iran, Jimmy Kimmel remarked on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, “The mood around the Oscars is a little bit tense this year. You know, they beefed up security after the FBI warned law enforcement here in California that Iran is aspiring to launch a drone strike on the West Coast, which is where we all are right now.”
“Isn’t this how Iron Man 3 started? The movie? We can’t handle a drone strike. We barely survived the writers’ strike here,” Kimmel noted, alluding to the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The 58-year-old TV personality then exclaimed, “I hope these Iranians realize, Donald Trump wants you to bomb us. For him, that would be a win-win. He might even bomb us himself and blame it on you.” Notably, the Republican President had famously lost the Golden State to Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Jimmy Kimmel fired more shots at Donald Trump during the segment for the latter’s unconvincing attitude towards the threats of war. “Our President is a disaster, and everyone around him is too scared to bring that up,” he said. “I mean, we have credible threats of retaliatory drone attacks on California, and this guy today is in Kentucky reminiscing about the way [Barack] Obama went down the stairs.”
The show then cut to a clip of Trump mocking Barack Obama’s walking style during a recent speech. Meanwhile, a recent report by ABC News states that the FBI has alerted California’s police departments regarding possible drone strikes by Iran.
