Jack Osbourne is paying tribute to his legendary father in a deeply personal way. The TV star recently welcomed a baby girl and chose a name that honors late rock icon Ozzy Osbourne.
Jack Osbourne welcomes newborn daughter and names her after late dad Ozzy
Jack Osbourne recently shared some happy family news. He welcomed his fifth daughter and introduced her to the world with a meaningful name, Ozzy Matilda Osbourne. The name pays tribute to his father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76.
Jack posted the baby’s first photo online. The picture shows the newborn peacefully asleep while a small stuffed bat toy rests beside her. The playful detail nods to one of Ozzy’s most famous rock-and-roll moments. Back in 1982, during a concert, the singer accidentally bit the head off a bat after thinking it was just a stage prop.
Previously, Jack welcomed three daughters, Pearl, 13, Andy, 10, and Minnie, 8, with his former wife Lisa Stelly. Later, in July 2022, Jack and his partner, now wife Aree Gearhart, welcomed another daughter named Maple.
With the arrival of Ozzy Matilda, Jack is now a father of five. The birth also comes not long after the passing of Jack’s father. The family said his death felt sudden, even though he had been dealing with health issues for some time.
Jack later shared a touching memory from one of their last conversations (via Entertainment Weekly). One night, while helping his dad get ready for bed, Ozzy looked at himself in the mirror and casually said he might cut off his hair. He joked that he had retired and wasn’t a ”rock star anymore.“ Thinking back on that moment, Jack said it felt like his father had made peace with his life and everything he accomplished.
Ozzy Osbourne carved out one of the most iconic careers in rock history. As the lead singer of Black Sabbath, he helped define the heavy metal sound with legendary tracks like Paranoid and Iron Man. He later launched a hugely successful solo run. Songs like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley” turned him into a rock powerhouse and earned him the famous nickname “Prince of Darkness.”
