What happened on The Masked Singer Season 14 Episode 9?
The Masked Singer Season 14 kept things exciting this week. The show unmasked another celebrity. None of the panelists guessed the identity correctly. The reveal surprised everyone. Alexi Lalas turned out to be High Voltage (via Variety).
From the panelists, Robin Thicke came closest when he guessed Tom Brady. Ken Jeong guessed Travis Kelce, while Jenny McCarthy suggested Julian Edelman. Rita Ora thought the performer might be Jason Sudeikis.
Before the reveal, High Voltage performed “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter. Earlier in the season, he also sang “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, “Miles On It” by Kane Brown and Marshmello, and “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath.
At the start of the episode, contestants Pangolin, Pugcasso, High Voltage and Crane opened the show by singing “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves. The audience voted, and Pangolin and High Voltage landed in the bottom two.
Both singers performed “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters to fight for their spot. The audience saved Pangolin, and High Voltage had to take off his mask revealing former U.S. soccer star and Fox Sports analyst Alexi Lalas.
Right before Lalas took off his mask, High Voltage gave one last clue a pair of cleats. He said, “The right shoes can carry you through any game in life.” After the reveal, the remaining contestants include Pangolin, Galaxy Girl, Stingray, Cat Witch, Pugcasso and Crane.
The show continues with host Nick Cannon and the panel trying to guess the next hidden celebrity. Alexi Lalas joins a growing list of Season 14 celebrities the show has already unmasked.
