Netflix’s Erotic Thriller Loses Streaming Spot to New Dinosaurs Show

The Dinosaurs, a newly released documentary series from executive producer Steven Spielberg, has quickly gained momentum on Netflix. It has also now surpassed the recently launched drama Vladimir in the platform’s streaming rankings. Early data shows that the docuseries has drawn a significantly larger audience shortly after debuting. 

The Dinosaurs beats Netflix’s Vladimir in latest streaming rankings 

The documentary series The Dinosaurs has outperformed the drama Vladimir in the latest streaming rankings on Netflix. For the week of March 2 to March 8, 2026, The Dinosaurs: Season 1 secured the second position on the platform’s Top 10 shows in the United States. Meanwhile, Vladimir was placed in seventh position.

Viewership data reported by Variety shows a noticeable difference in the early performance of the two titles. The Dinosaurs recorded about 10.4 million views within its first three days after release, while Vladimir reached approximately 4.2 million views during its first four days on the platform.

Over a longer window, the gap between the two shows remained significant. The Dinosaurs accumulated around 32 million views over a seven-day period, whereas Vladimir generated roughly 17 million views during the same timeframe.

Executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, The Dinosaurs premiered on Netflix on March 6, 2026. The four-part documentary miniseries examines the evolutionary history of dinosaurs. The show has also received a strongly positive critical response and currently holds a 100 percent critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Meanwhile, Vladimir is a comedy-drama series created by Julia May Jonas. The eight-episode series debuted on Netflix on March 5, 2026, and follows an English professor whose life becomes increasingly complicated after she develops an obsession with a new colleague. Her obsession begins to strain both her personal and professional life. The series currently holds a 71 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, the audience approval rating has been less favorable at 58 percent.
