Lakers star Luka Doncic and his fiancée Anamaria Goltes have reportedly entered a custody battle

Lakers star Luka Doncic has reportedly entered a custody battle with his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes. Previously, TMZ reported that Goltes filed a petition seeking child support and attorney fees.

The 27-year-old confirmed this and revealed to ESPN, “I love my daughters more than anything, and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement. Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness, and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

Furthermore, insiders told the sports outlet that the NBA player had no idea his former partner had “filed” a petition in California.

Sources reportedly close to him added that Doncic has always provided for his family and pays for his daughters’ expenses “without limitation.” He even missed two crucial matches against the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics to be there for his partner during the birth of their second child in Slovenia. The former couple’s older daughter was with her mother in Slovenia at the time.

Further, sources explained that Doncic expressed his desire to bring back their older daughter to the U.S. with him when he returned to join his team. However, this led to a major disagreement with his fiancée, Goltes, who called the police after he peacefully left the hospital.

On December 6, the police interviewed Goltes at Kranj Maternity Hospital and Doncic separately at his house. According to the police report, they “did not detect any elements of a criminal offense or misdemeanor.”
