Mickey Rourke Evicted from His LA Home After Court Case — Report

Mickey Rourke has been evicted from his LA home after the judgment was entered by “default”, as per court documents obtained by PEOPLE. In simple words, the 73-year-old actor-boxer failed to respond to the complaint or appear to defend himself within the required time under California law.

The property located on Drexel Avenue in Los Angeles has been returned to the possession of the landlord. The judgment also details that the rental agreement has been cancelled and the lease forfeited. This means that Rourke has no legal right to occupy the house.

The judgment ruled in favour of “possession only”. This means the landlord was handed back his property and the court did not award financial damages in the case.

According to court filings in December, Rourke was ordered to pay $59,100 in back rent or leave the house within three days. In January, the Sin City star was snapped moving out of his LA home. At the time, a woman named Liya-Joelle Jones, who introduced herself as Rourke’s manager Kimberly Hines’ assistant, started a GoFund Me to support him.

However, the Angel Heart alum took to Instagram to clarify that he had no knowledge about the GoFundMe. The 73-year-old lamented that he was “frustrated,” “confused” and failed to understand why someone would create a GoFundMe on his behalf. Rourke confessed, “That’s not me, okay? I’d rather, if I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no f***ing charity. I’d rather stick a gun up my a** and pull the trigger.”

Continuing further, he clarified, “I wouldn’t know what a GoFundMe foundation is in a million years. My life is very simple, I wouldn’t go to outside sources like that.”
