An insider recently shared that Ivanka Trump, the daughter of President Donald Trump, cheered on Hugh Jackman at Rupert Murdoch’s birthday. On his 95th birthday bash, the Wolverine star performed various songs, including Fly Me to the Moon and New York, New York, while ending his set with a song dedicated to his home country. Ivanka and Jackman have reportedly known each other since 2010.

Hugh Jackman attended Rupert Murdoch’s birthday bash at The Grill in Midtown Manhattan. The party also featured a video message sent by Ivanka’s father, Donald Trump. During the star-studded party, Jackman performed multiple songs from The Greatest Showman. He also sang Fly Me to the Moon and “New York, New York” ahead of concluding his set with I Still Call Australia Home by Peter Allen. As per a PEOPLE source, “[Ivanka] was cheering him on.”
In an old interview with Variety, Jackman shared a few words on his friendship with Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner. He said, “I’ve known those guys for 15 years, and we don’t talk politics at birthday parties.” He also passed on a political message to people, encouraging them to go out and vote. “Vote! I’m an Ozzie, so I don’t get to vote, but if you can, you should vote,” he said. While he has not publicly detailed his friendship with the political couple, he previously gave Ivanka a public shout-out in 2015.
Previously, Jackman took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a photo of Ivanka alongside what appeared to be a room service menu for his Laughing Man Coffee. He wrote in the caption, “My lovely friend @IvankaTrump enjoying a special wkend with Jared. Look what’s on the menu! @livelaughingman!” In 2011, it was reported by Just Jared that Jackman and his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, attended the opening of Ivanka’s NYC jewelry boutique.
