According to a recent report by Rob Shuter, the ongoing backlash against Timothée Chalamet for his controversial remark on ballet and opera has impacted his relationship with Kylie Jenner. Speaking with Shuter’s Naughty But Nice, an insider source claimed that the growing tension due to the controversy put strain on their relationship.

“The relationship is definitely feeling the strain,” the source alleged. “Timothée is under a lot of pressure right now, and it’s spilling into his personal life,” they added. Referencing the Dune star’s viral comment, the insider continued, “A lot of people in the industry were shocked. Ballet and opera are deeply respected in that world.”

Moreover, the source claimed that Chalamet is struggling to navigate the backlash. They said, “The Kardashian-Jenner family is used to backlash and public drama. They’ve dealt with it their entire careers. Timothée hasn’t.”

The sources have also said that Kylie Jenner has been supportive of Chalamet, despite feeling unfairly caught up in the controversy. “Kylie knows how the media storm works. But Timothée is taking it very personally,” the tipster said. The source concluded, “They’re trying to work through it. But right now, things are definitely tense.”

Timothée Chalamet continues to face criticism for saying that “no one cares” about ballet and opera. The Oscar-nominated actor recently sat down with his Interstellar co-star Matthew McConaughey for a Variety-CNN Town Hall event, where he made this explosive statement.

“And I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive.’ Even though it’s like, no one cares about this anymore. All respect to the ballet and opera people out there. I just lost 14 cents in viewership,” Chalamet said.

The ballet and opera community across social media has since slammed Chalamet for his comment. Several renowned companies, such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York City and the English National Opera, have also called out the Marty Supreme actor on Instagram.
