This Celebrity Agrees Timothee Chalamet Isn’t ‘Wrong’ About Ballet & Opera

Timothee Chalamet recently made controversial comments on ballet and opera. The actor sat down for an interview with Matthew McConaughey, where he made a cheeky remark about not wanting to work in ballet and opera. The Oscar-nominated star had made similar comments in his 2019 interview. However, Adela has chosen to side with Chalamet in this controversy.

Adela backs Timothee Chalamet’s remark about ballet and opera: ‘He’s not wrong’

Adela supported Timothee Chalamet in his remarks on ballet and opera. During her recent visit to the airport, a TMZ reporter asked her, “You used to be a ballerina didnt you, or you still are?” She replied, “Yeah. I am, I do that.” The reporter further asked her whether she studied it or did it professionally. The “Superscar” singer said, “I studied it when I was a child, a little one.” The reporter then informed her about Chalamet’s statements on ballet and opera.

However, Adela said, “I think people are like maybe drawing it out of proportion.” The 22-year-old stated that she hasn’t seen it, but she doesn’t feel that the “Dune 2” star “meant it that way.” She further added, “He’s not wrong. [Ballet] is kinda a dying art form.” Adela continued, “It’s sad. If anything, he’s just highlighted that… People should be going to the ballet more. Honestly, maybe this is publicity.” The comment section was also filled with praises for the singer.

One user wrote, “ADÉLA’s take is spot-on — Timothée isn’t being ‘edgy’ for no reason. Ballet and opera are struggling to stay in the spotlight, and calling attention to it, even indirectly, might actually spark interest. Publicity or not, it’s a reminder that these art forms need audiences to survive.” Another user said, “She’s right. This discourse has been so stupid and full of people deliberately misinterpreting his (granted, poorly articulated) point.”

Talking about Chalamet’s comments, he said, “I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera where it’s like, ‘Hey! Keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore.” The 30-year-old added, “All respect to the ballet and opera people out there… I just lost 14 cents in viewership. I’m taking shots for no reason.”
