One Piece Is Finally ‘Real’ & Fans Are Prepared To Set Sail To Find It

One Piece creator Eiichirō Oda worked hard to protect a secret, and it seems like the manga’s fans are working harder to uncover it. An announcement stated that Oda had hidden the series’ final ending in a glass sphere and placed it deep in the ocean. On March 3, fans decided to analyse the announcement footage to find out the exact location of the sphere.

One Piece fans have reportedly found the location of anime’s secret hidden by Eiichiro Oda

In a video posted on the official One Piece YouTube channel, creator Eiichirō Oda wrote down the answer to the biggest mystery: What is One Piece? The page is placed in a treasure chest, locked in a pressure-resistant glass sphere, and dropped in an undisclosed location 651 metres below sea level. The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) assisted the project.

Oda has previously claimed that it is a physical treasure, which has made fans even more eager to find out what it is. Fans analysed the footage and pieced together details from the video, turning it into a real-life treasure hunt. One Redditor wrote a post decoding several clues. One clue suggested that the drop might have happened off the coast of Japan, while another noted the direction of the sunlight.

At the end of the post, the fan concluded that the drop location could be Suruga Bay, Shizuoka. The bay is close to Tokyo, where Oda lives, and deep water is not too far from the coast. The fan also mentioned that they have come up with these clues, assuming that the footage is real. However, they did not completely rule out the possibility that it could be fake.

Meanwhile, an X user estimated the daily cost to perform an operation to retrieve the secret to be roughly $96,000. This included charter fees for a Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology research vessel and the Shinkai 6500. Further, IShowSpeed has teased that he might actually stream himself as he attempts to find it.
