Team USA’s Jack Hughes Reportedly Dating Tate McRae

US Weekly reports that Team USA’s Jack Hughes is reportedly dating Tate McRae. For those unversed, there had been rumors on the internet that the ice hockey player had been dating the Canadian singer for quite some time. However, McRae and Hughes haven’t commented on their relationship status yet.

Jack Hughes and Tate McRae reportedly dating

Reportedly, Jack Hughes and Tate McRae have been dating for a couple of months now. A source exclusively revealed to U.S. Weekly, “Tate and Jack are dating. They started casually seeing each other late last year, so it’s still new, but they are exclusively seeing each other.”

The insider shared that the pair connected after the ice-hockey player took a fancy to the “greedy” singer and “initially messaged her on IG and started a conversation.” The source dished, “She thinks he is a really cool guy and they have been having a lot of fun together. She has been so supportive of his career and has been loving going to the games and cheering him on.”

Hughes and McRae were first romantically paired in December 2025, when they were seen together in New York City. The singer reportedly attended one of his games at Newark’s Prudential Center, after which they spent time in NYC. A source explained that the couple is spending as much time as they can. The insider expressed, “They are making it work during this busy season, but hope to have more time together next month when his season ends. Tate thinks he’s really sweet and it’s going well so far.”

Interestingly, this isn’t McRae’s first high-profile romance covered by various media outlets. The “hurt my feelings” hitmaker was in a relationship with NHL player Cole Sillinger from 2021 to 2023 and dated The Kid Laroi in 2024. On the work front, McRae wrapped her Miss Possessive Tour in November 2025. (via Page Six).

As for Hughes, he is a hot topic on the internet after he scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Team Canada last month. Team USA won a gold medal for that match. He ends his regular season schedule with the Devils in mid-April this year.
