Jon Stewart has rained down criticism on Donald Trump and his administration, slamming the Republican’s handling of global events, specifically the attack on Iran, with hard-hitting sarcasm. The writer/comedian mocked the US President’s recent geopolitical decisions with several blistering jokes, going as far as to compare his intelligence with that of bombs.
Jon Stewart calls out Donald Trump’s Iran war decision
The veteran television host recently ridiculed the POTUS’ handling of the ongoing war against Iran by blasting his outing at a recent press briefing.
On the March 2 episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart played a snippet of Donald Trump talking about a host of unrelated topics, despite the Middle Eastern conflict being the primary agenda of the gathering. “I can’t believe our bombs are now smarter than our President,” Stewart quipped.
Notably, the businessman-turned-politician launched “Operation Epic Fury” last Friday, ordering strikes in a bid to target Iran’s missile production, navy, and nuclear capabilities. The attack has resulted in the killings of several high-ranking officers, including Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Throwing shade at the title of Trump’s operation in the Middle East, the 63-year-old industry veteran remarked, “Epic Fury?! Did the Paul Brothers launch another energy drink?”
Additionally, Stewart called out the supposed hypocrisy of Trump supporters by showing clips from the 2024 election. The videos showed right-wing people publicly trusting the two-time President to keep the country away from wars. He then aired snippets of sympathizers of the president from Friday, where they could be seen lauding Trump’s decision to strike Iran.
“How quickly the right has gone from ‘peace through strength’ to ‘peace through war,'” Jon Stewart noted, adding, “And we’re all just along for the ride in a war with no clear purpose, no end in sight, all at the whims of Donald Trump.”
While Donald Trump often responds to his critics, he has yet to comment on Jon Stewart’s latest statements.
