Travis Kelce’s wife-to-be, Taylor Swift, who didn’t attend the Brit Awards, has received disappointing news from the ceremony. The global popstar was nominated in two categories at the recent event. She was a contender in the International Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year categories for her song, “The Fate of Ophelia.” Previously, it was reported that Swift had flown into the UK and would perform at the Brit Awards, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

Notably, the Brit Awards snubbed the “Opalite” singer, as she failed to win any accolades even after bagging two nominations. In the International Song of the Year category, she lost to “Apt.,” Bruno Mars and Rosé’s 2024 single. Moreover, the International Artist of the Year award went to the Spanish singer-songwriter, Rosalía.
Despite traveling to London two weeks earlier, Taylor Swift preferred spending time back home with Travis Kelce over attending the Brit Awards. But it seems like she had a great reason to skip the event, apart from not winning any awards. Interestingly, it is related to her NFL player fiancé.
According to Geo TV News, Swift finally relented and gave in to her fiancé’s long-time wish of welcoming otters into their family. Fans are aware of Kelce’s immense love for otters, as he has often spoken about it on his New Heights podcast.
Now, a certificate of adoption in Kelce’s name is doing the rounds on social media. The adoption certificate states that the Chiefs’ tight end is now the proud pet dad to Thor, Yeyuno, and Matteo, who are “giant river otters.” However, it is unclear whether the couple actually adopted the otters or if it is a symbolic gesture.
Swift and Kelce had previously discussed their collective love for otters during her appearance on the New Heights podcast. He confessed, “I want a wild otter so bad. I just want to find these little creatures and be friends with them.”
Swift then expressed, “He wants one specifically whose life he saved. It is a really specific type of otter he is looking for.” The “Lover” crooner added that she also wanted an otter.
Recently, Taylor Swift celebrated her song “Opalite” charting at the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 100. Travis Kelce, on the other hand, has expressed his desire to continue his NFL career and, reportedly, is in contract discussions with his team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Additionally, the celebrity duo has plans to wed this summer.
