Gavin Newsom Slams Donald Trump for Talking About Ballroom

Gavin Newsom, governor of California, called out Donald Trump for not taking enough time to honor the four US servicemembers who died during the US-Israel joint strike on Iran. He complained that the president was much more interested in talking about his new ballroom. This, according to Newsom, completely undermines the efforts of those who died serving in the war he started. He also criticized Trump’s lack of clarity about how he plans to end the Iran situation.

During a press conference, Newsom expressed his disappointment in the speech Trump gave before the Congressional Medal of Honor ceremony. He slammed the president for not taking enough time to honor the servicemembers who lost their lives in the US-Israel joint military attack against Iran. Newsom didn’t appreciate Trump making his speech more centered on his new ballroom.

“Four service members died today, and Donald Trump spent more time talking about his ballroom than he did talking about the loss of those lives. Review the tape,” Newsom said. Further criticizing Trump, he added, “He spent more time talking about the curtains in his ballroom than the four service members that died because of his operations and declaration of war without congressional consent.”

Newsom also accused Trump of lacking clarity in this escalating conflict. He said, “He still has not articulated his vision of what the endgame is. Period. Full stop.”

During the ceremony, Trump took a very brief moment to pay tribute to the four servicemembers who lost their lives in the US-Israel joint military attack. “Today, we grieve for the four heroic American service members who have been killed in action and send our love and support to their families. In their memories, we continue this mission with ferocious, unyielding resolve to crush the threat this terrorist regime poses to the American people,” he said.

The president then quickly moved to gush about his administration’s plans for a new ballroom. The latter is planned to be built on the site of the former East Wing in Washington, D.C.
