Donald Trump Blames Barack Obama & ‘Sleepy’ Joe Biden Amid Iran War

In the midst of the ongoing U.S. and Israeli military war against Iran, President Donald Trump took to social media to place the blame for the conflict squarely on his predecessors, Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

In a series of Truth Social posts, Donald Trump wrote on March 2 that if he hadn’t terminated “Obama’s horrendous Iran Nuclear Deal (JCPOA), Iran would have had a Nuclear Weapon three years ago.” Further adding, “That was the most dangerous transaction we have ever entered into, and had it been allowed to stand, the World would be an entirely different place right now. You can blame Barack Hussein Obama, and Sleepy Joe Biden. THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP!”

The president repeated these claims earlier during a White House Medal of Honor ceremony honoring three Army veterans. At the event, he veered off script several times to discuss the 2015 nuclear deal with Tehran, which he withdrew the U.S. from during his administration. Neither Obama nor Biden has responded to Trump’s latest comments.

Donald Trump has a long history of posting about the possibility of Obama attacking Iran to secure political opportunities, though Obama never did and instead pursued the diplomatic route. Trump also directed criticism at other Democrats who have questioned the strategy or legality of the Iran attacks. In a later post, he wrote of the “DEMENTED” and “Radical Left Democrats, a Party that has completely lost its way.”

“What most people understand is that they are only complaining BECAUSE I DID IT and, if I didn’t do it, they would be screaming — Why didn’t ‘TRUMP’ attack Iran, he should do it, IMMEDIATELY?” Trump wrote. “There’s nothing surprising about this!” Beyond a quick video from his Florida estate in the early hours of February 28 as strikes commenced and the medal ceremony, Trump has not addressed the nation on the military action.

He did post over the weekend about the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei before it was confirmed by state media.
