South Park Writer Wants Donald Trump’s Son Barron to Go to War

The hashtag #SendBarron has trended on social media after a satirical website called for President Donald Trump to deploy his youngest son to the military. Comedian and former South Park writer Toby Morton created the site Draftbarrontrump.com during Operation Epic Fury, an offensive in which the U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes against Iran. Officials have confirmed that at least four American service members died and several others suffered serious injuries as the assault entered its third day.

Critics have accused President Trump of appearing indifferent toward the deaths, as he described them as a reality of war and warned that the U.S. death toll could get “quite a bit higher.” During remarks at a Medal of Honor Ceremony following the attacks, he spoke about plans for the White House ballroom. The website states: “America is strong because its leaders are strong. President Trump proves that every day. Naturally, his son Barron is more than ready to defend the country his father so boldly commands.”

The site adds: “This site is dedicated to honoring the strongest and bravest voices in war. When power is projected abroad, it is only right that strength exists at home.” It concludes with “Dog Bless Barron.” A parody quote attributed to the president reads: “People come up to me, with tears in their eyes, and they say, ‘Sir, you’re the strongest. Send Barron off to war’ I’ve always been strong. Very strong. Stronger than anyone expected. Some say the strongest ever. And strength matters. Believe me.”

Barron Trump is 19 and stands at 6’9”, above the maximum enlistment height for most U.S. military branches. Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force requirements cap enlistment at 6’8”, while the Marine Corps limit is 6’6”.
