Chris Hemsworth and Ed Sheeran battled it out in an impromptu arm-wrestling contest. Sheeran shared the video on Instagram with the caption, “Recreating the comic book cover,” and tagged Hemsworth in the video as well. Unsurprisingly, the video garnered 309K likes, 10K shares, 2,701 retweets, and 1,723 comments.

Interestingly, the duo’s impromptu arm-wrestling match was inspired by comic book artist Wayne Nichols’ artwork showcasing Hemsworth in his iconic Thor avatar battling it out with Sheeran. In the photo, Hemsworth carries Thor’s famed hammer, and the British singer has his signature guitar by his side.

Nichols shared the making of the artwork with the caption, “Ragnarok and Roll! I had an absolute blast creating artwork for this epic team-up between the God of Thunder and Ed Sheeran.” Nichols soundtracked the post with Sheeran’s song “Castle on the Hill.”

In the video, Hemsworth and Sheeran put in their best efforts as the British singer casually remarks to his opponent, “Do it properly. Go on, go on. He can’t.” Sheeran easily wins over Hemsworth and demands a rematch, which the Australian actor instantly agrees to. During the second round, the Thor star puts in extra effort to beat the British singer, who tries his best but ultimately loses to Hemsworth.

Fans loved their cheeky arm-wrestling match and raved about the duo in the comments section. One fan commented, “Bro said friendly… then went full Thor mode,” followed by a bicep and thunder emoji. A second fan wrote, “God of Thunder (handshake emoji) God of Looper.”

A third fan penned, “Love these two together!!” A fourth fan quipped, “Ed Sheeran will return in Avengers: Doomsday.” Finally, Marvel’s account remarked, “RAGNAROK AND ROLL,” followed by a guitar and thunder emoji.
