The latest episode of the New Heights podcast featured the Kelce brothers sporting the Team USA hockey jerseys in celebration of the team’s phenomenal performance at the Winter Olympics. While congratulating gold medalist Laila Edwards, a fellow Cleveland Heights native, Travis Kelce reminisced about his own younger days at the ice hockey rink.

The Kansas City Chiefs star shared a throwback photo of himself as a young boy, decked out in full gear, posing with his teammates on the rink. Congratulating Edwards on her Olympic victory, Kelce playfully boasted, “Laila, I’ve got two banners up in the Cleveland Heights hockey rink. I’m not sure how many banners you have.”

Kelce went on to poke fun at how much taller he was than all the other kids. “That’s a young Travis Kelce looking as tall as all the adults on there. That’s a heft boy right there,” the star tight end joked. The three-time Super Bowl champ also jokingly teased the idea of participating in the 2030 Winter Olympics together, in the double luge alongside his brother.

Kelce also shared some fun anecdotes about his early days in the hockey rink. The Chiefs’ star revealed that he was always taught to put all his strength into hitting the puck.

Meanwhile, speculation about Kelce’s future in the NFL continues to swirl among fans. The future Hall of Famer still hasn’t confirmed whether he will hang up his cleats or return to the field in the upcoming season.

Kelce addressed the retirement rumors on the January 7 episode of the New Heights podcast. He shared that he plans on “just being a regular human for a couple weeks, maybe a month or so, trying to figure out what I’m gonna do next in terms of my future in football.”
