Bridgerton Season 4 Ending Has a Special Mid-Credits Scene

Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 has arrived, and it includes a special surprise for viewers in its post-credits scene. The scene in question brings a resolution to Sophie Baek and Benedict Bridgerton‘s love story, which the new installment revolves around.

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

What happens in Bridgerton’s post-credits scene?

The post-credits scene of Bridgerton Season 4 depicts Benedict and Sophie’s wedding. This is a big departure from the novel, which ends before showing the pair exchanging vows. Notably, Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton, spoiled this scene in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year when he said he was “filming a wedding.”

Benedict is first shown interacting with his brother, Anthony, who tells him he has some advice. Surprised that there is more advice for him, Benedict remarks how Anthony has to be “the wizened firstborn brother” even on his wedding day.

Anthony responds by telling Benedict what he considers the “wisest” advice: not to listen to him ever again. He then tells his brother that their father would be proud of him, admitting that he himself feels the same. This references Anthony’s attempt to dissuade Benedict from continuing his relationship with Sophie, stemming from his fear of it damaging their younger sisters’ reputations if it became public knowledge. Anthony’s advice underscores his acknowledgement of his mistake in discouraging Benedict and Sophie’s relationship.

The scene shifts to Anthony’s wife, Kate, who asks the girls whose wedding they will be attending next. Eloise responds that she loves a wedding, noting how it has “all the best people in the same place.” After Kate chuckles, Eloise clarifies that she will be there as an “attendee.” Meanwhile, Penelope asks Francesca if she will have a wedding again, to which she responds, “No, I have had my great love. One time is enough.”

The guests subsequently stand up after noticing Sophie’s presence. She walks down the aisle with Alfie and approaches Benedict, and kisses him after being pronounced husband and wife.

The scene ends with a peek at a large portrait of a painting in My Cottage, signed by Benedict. The painting in question shows an unmasked lady wearing silver attire.
