Maria Julissa, an OnlyFans creator, has been linked to the capture and killing of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, who led the Jalisco New Generation (CJNG) drug cartel. He was killed on Sunday, February 22, 2026, during a security operation.

The drug lord, widely known as El Mencho, reportedly died after clashes between his supporters and the army left him seriously injured. Since then, unrest has been reported in parts of the country.

Amid the developments, Julissa’s name began circulating online. Rumors claimed she was the cartel leader’s partner and had provided information to authorities. AI-generated images also spread alongside the rumored allegations.

Julissa took to her social media platform to set the record straight.

“I want to make it absolutely clear: I have nothing to do with that situation,” she wrote on Instagram. “The information going around is false and lacks foundation.” She further added, “ask that you all not fall for fake news and always look to reliable sources and officials.”

Before the rumors surfaced, Mexico’s Defense Secretary Ricardo Trevilla had stated that El Mencho was tracked through a romantic connection.

Reports indicate that violence escalated following El Mencho’s death. According to local accounts, members of the cartel have set vehicles on fire, erected roadblocks, and engaged security forces. Some US travelers have reportedly experienced flight cancellations amid the unrest.

Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to remain indoors until conditions stabilize.
