Travis Kelce has confessed that the next guest on their New Heights podcast made him cry. New Heights’ official X account released a new video announcing their next guest to be American singer-songwriter and guitarist Chris Stapleton. They captioned the video, “Our next guest literally brought us to tears.”
Travis Kelce’s upcoming New Heights guest once left him in tears
American legend Chris Stapleton brought Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason, to tears. True to his grandiose introduction style, Jason shared, “Our guest today is a six-foot songwriter, singer, and country music superstar from Staffordsville, Kentucky.”
After listing all his achievements and greatest hits, Jason announced, “92 percenters, please welcome the man who performed a national anthem so good it brought me to tears. The one and only, Chris Stapleton.” Travis nodded along to Jason’s words and agreed.
In the same promo, Jason asked, “How many people do you venture you have made cry just from singing the national anthem?” Stapleton quipped, “Well, I know two,” as the Kelce brothers broke into laughter.
For those unversed, the moment Jason mentioned was from Super Bowl 2023. The Eagles alum looked visibly emotional as he mouthed the lyrics to the national anthem. Even Travis was teary-eyed as he softly sang along to the national anthem, his heart swelling with patriotic pride. Notably, Chris Stapleton performed the national anthem at that year’s Super Bowl.
Interestingly, in 2023, Travis’ team, the Kansas City Chiefs, faced his brother’s team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs won 38–35 over the Eagles in a thrilling match.
Fans pointed out that Stapleton has collaborated with Travis’ fiancée, Taylor Swift, on the song “I Bet You Think About Me.” One commented, “Now I suddenly have the urge to watch the Super Bowl national anthem [Chris Stapleton version] and IBYTAM [Taylor’s version].”
A second fan wrote, “Oh, I am SO f***ing sat. Chris is a LEGEND. And I don’t even listen to country, lol.”
