Ex-Prince Andrew To Make Bold Sacrifice To Lower Infamy, Says Source

Ex-Prince Andrew’s arrest incident has reportedly created a major stir in the royal scene. Due to his past controversies, he was already stripped of his titles and duties. He even had to leave his home, Royal Lodge, and find a new accommodation at the Sandringham estate.

But now, the current situation could allegedly push the ex-Duke of York to make a bold move, according to a source. This sacrifice might reduce his notoriety to an extent.

Ex-Prince Andrew willing to voluntarily remove himself from royal line of succession, per source

Ex-Prince Andrew would reportedly make a bold decision to lower his infamy after his arrest. A source recently told Rob Shuter that he might remove himself from the royal line of succession. Being King Charles’ brother, he is eighth in line to the throne. Although he was stripped of his titles, he still holds his position after Prince Harry’s youngest.

“The cleanest way to remove him would be for Andrew to renounce his position himself. Otherwise, it would require coordinated legislation across all 56 Commonwealth realms — a constitutional headache no one wants,” they said.

According to the insiders, this sacrifice might be more about Andrew’s concern for “security for life.” Even if he let go of the royal line of succession, the 66-year-old has found a new home, Marsh Farm. They added that the ex-prince reportedly wants his horses at his new property.

Furthermore, he allegedly wants “written guarantees,” ensuring the royal titles of his daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, remain. “He’s negotiating comfort, not consequences. It’s slippery to the end,” a palace watcher claimed.

For those unversed, Andrew was arrested on February 19, on the day of his 66th birthday, at his new home on suspicion of “misconduct in public office.” After an alleged 11 hours of interrogation, he was released in the evening. Reports claimed that King Charles and Prince William were not instantly notified about the arrest.

Soon, the monarch released a statement about his brother being taken into custody. “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course,” Charles noted.
