The new comedy series The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan, is off to a strong start with critics. Created by Robert Carlock and Sam Means, the series features Morgan as a disgraced former football star attempting to rebuild his public image.

What critics are saying about The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins centers around a disgraced football star, Reggie Dinkins, played by Tracy Morgan, who attempts to repair his public image. He teams up with award-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin, portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, while also confronting mistakes from his past.

Collider‘s Tania Hussain wrote that the series grows stronger as it progresses. She noted, “By the back half of the season, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is confident enough to let jokes land sideways and find its balance between sharp satire, emotional awareness, and the laugh-out-loud commitment to a bit that makes the series feel bigger than your standard network comedy.” Hussain added that “the show’s momentum only gets stronger as it goes thanks to its ensemble.”

Tessa Smith of Mama’s Geeky also praised the first season, writing, “The first season absolutely flies by. It manages to maintain a laugh-out-loud frequency while weaving in a sincere story about confronting the ghosts of one’s past.” She described the finale as “pure perfection,” adding that it balances humor with an emotional conclusion. Smith also praised the series’ cast, highlighting the chemistry between Morgan and Radcliffe.

Tom’s Guide similarly emphasized the show’s consistent humor. It added, “The performers all handle the fast-paced material with energy and charm, creating a world that is just as memorable as in other Fey/Carlock shows.”

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins gets a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins has debuted to an overwhelmingly positive response from critics. The show, which premiered on January 18, 2026, currently holds a perfect 100 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, surpassing every film in the Harry Potter franchise.

Among the eight films in the Harry Potter franchise, the best score from critics was given to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which holds 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It is followed by Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with 91 percent. Other films in the franchise received lower scores on the site.

However, because The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins has only recently premiered, its score may change as more reviews are added.
