No, Taylor Swift Didn’t Perform at Indian Wedding

It seems Taylor Swift did not perform at a recent Indian wedding. For those unversed, a video was doing the rounds on the internet claiming that the global pop star was performing at a grand wedding in Jamnagar. However, it has now come to light that these claims are false and that Swift did not come to India.

Taylor Swift performing at Indian wedding rumors surface

Rumors of Taylor Swift performing at a recent Indian wedding were recently debunked. Over the weekend, videos of someone who seemed to be Swift caught everybody’s attention on social media. The caption on the video stated, “OMGGG Taylor Swift in Jamnagar unforgettable evening as the Ambani family welcomed Taylor Swift for a special performance.” Further, the text on it read, “Taylor Swift in Jamnagar performing for Ambani.”

A tall blonde woman in a gold, shimmering dress with bangs can be seen dancing and grooving in the video. Fans noticed that the woman bears a close resemblance to the global pop star. While the clip seems to be from Jamnagar, the woman in the video is not the “Opalite” singer. Some reports claim that she is her famous look-alike, Ashley Leechin.

For those unversed, Leechin is Swift’s famous doppelganger who routinely performs worldwide. According to Hindustan Times, the event was not directly related to the Ambanis, and the occasion was the wedding of Ahana Raheja and Yash Patel, members of business families from Gujarat. It was reportedly held at Vantara, an animal rescue and rehabilitation center run by Anant Ambani.

In fact, the “Daylight” crooner has not officially visited India yet. She has neither performed in a concert nor at a private gig. Fans have reacted amusingly to the viral Indian wedding moment on Instagram. One fan quipped, “Taylor Swift from Meesho,” followed by a laughing emoji. A second fan commented, “It’s Asheeen Leechen. Doppelganger of Taylor Swift.”

A third fan joked, “Swifted Taylor.” Finally, a fan wrote, “That’s not Taylor. Stop fooling people.” Interestingly, Swift is reportedly all set to tie the knot with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, this summer.
