Why Kylie Jenner & Timothee Chalamet Avoided Valentine’s Day PDA — Source

Wondering why Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet didn’t go above and beyond for their Valentine’s Day celebration? Well, it seems like this has nothing to do with relationship troubles. According to insider chatter, they apparently kept things intentionally low-key, all thanks to the ongoing peak award season.

The insider, who spoke to “Naughty But Nice’s” Rob Shuter, claimed that the beloved Hollywood couple is being extra careful with public optics right now. They also explained how these decisions are clearly all about timing, strategy, and definitely not about their connection.

Kylie Jenner recently took to social media to share special moments from her Valentine’s Day 2026 celebration, and they were all centered around family. This also included calling her mother, Kris Jenner, her Valentine. Fans clearly noticed the absence of Timothee Chalamet, who was apparently busy attending a special screening and Q&A event for his movie, “Call Me By Your Name,” at that time, instead of spending the special day with his partner.

This split actually ended up raising some eyebrows, leaving fans shocked and confused, but a source recently elaborated on this, clearing doubts. They exclaimed, “This is about optics; Timothée is in serious contention. The focus needs to stay on the work, not the relationship.” They also talked about how this is a clear awards season strategy and not relationship drama. After all, strategy is king when it comes to Hollywood.

Another source chimed in on this situation with Jenner and Chalamet, claiming that this is just till March 5, when the final voting for the Oscars closes. They explained, “They’re not hiding. They’re managing visibility. After March 5? You’ll see them. Until then, it’s disciplined.” Meanwhile, a studio source also opened up, saying, “Every headline counts right now. Romance can wait. Campaign momentum can’t.”
