Hillary Clinton Accuses Donald Trump Administration of ‘Slow-Walking’ Epstein Files

Hillary Clinton has raised fresh concerns about the handling of long-awaited investigative records tied to Jeffrey Epstein. In a new interview, she questioned how the Trump administration managed the release of the files. She suggested key information has yet to be fully disclosed.

Hillary Clinton has accused President Donald Trump’s administration of a “cover-up” over its handling of files related to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. “Get the files out. They are slow-walking it,” she told the BBC in Berlin, where she attended the World Forum. She added, “We have nothing to hide. We have called for the full release of these files repeatedly. We think sunlight is the best disinfectant.”

The US Department of Justice released millions of documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act after Congress mandated disclosure of investigation materials. The department said it had released all files required by the law, while lawmakers, including Representative Thomas Massie, called for additional internal memos. Epstein died in a New York prison cell on 10 August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, years after a prior conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

Clinton said she and former president Bill Clinton would testify publicly before the House Oversight Committee. “We will show up but we think it would be better to have it in public,” she said. “I just want it to be fair. I want everybody treated the same way.” Lawmakers shelved a planned contempt vote after the Clintons agreed to appear. It marks the first time a former US president has testified before Congress since Gerald Ford did so in 1983.

Trump, who is mentioned in the files and has denied wrongdoing, told the BBC: “I’ve been exonerated. I had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein.” The White House said the administration had released thousands of pages and cooperated with congressional subpoenas, adding it had done “more for the victims than Democrats ever have.” Survivors have not accused either Clinton of wrongdoing, and both have denied that they knew about Epstein’s crimes at the time.
