Elsie Christie Turned to OnlyFans After Olympics Dream Ended

Olympic speed skater Elsie Christie, who competed at three Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Sochi, and PyeongChang between 2010 and 2018 for Great Britain, has embarked on a radically different path after hanging up her skates. She is now an OnlyFans star and explained in a recent interview why she chose the path.

Elsie Christie retired in 2021 after making appearances in three Winter Olympics, in Vancouver, Sochi, and PyeongChang, for Great Britain. However, like many Olympic athletes, Christie also saw her share of struggles during and after her stint as a sportsperson.

Olympic stars, especially those who fall below the category of Grade A and B, receive very little payment and often struggle to make ends meet. This is more common after retirement.

For Christie, this has been the exact case. So, the former athlete has chosen a completely different path to sustain herself. The 35-year-old is now an OnlyFans star. She also reportedly works at a Pizza Hut.

In a new interview with The Telegraph, the former athlete opened up about her struggles. She also shared about her decision to be on OnlyFans. “I’m trying to get to the point where I’m not doing it, but it’s not easy financially,” she explained after stating how OnlyFans pays £5,000 for every 700 subscribers to her account.”

She continued, “I’m trying to get to the point where I’m not doing it, but it’s not easy financially…It’s very different from anything I would have imagined doing. It all started before I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.” Chtistie added, “I probably never would have done it with that diagnosis, but I do believe that it got me out of a very difficult time. I learned to use it in a way that I felt comfortable. And everyone does use it differently – it isn’t just what people think it is.”

She added, “At the same time, I did go over it for a long time in my head. In the end, I decided that being slagged off for this had nothing on being slagged off for my skating, something I dedicated my life to and apparently failed at.”

Christie also opened up about how some of her close friends have cut her off because of her content creation. “This isn’t my long-term goal in life. I want to be involved in sport. But at the minute, it helps keep me afloat,” she added.
