The series picks up 15 years after Oliver Twist and tracks Jack Dawkins, the former Artful Dodger, as he reinvents himself as a talented surgeon in 1850s colonial Australia. Thomas Brodie-Sangster leads as Jack, with David Thewlis as Fagin and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox. Season 2 sees authorities locking Jack up for a murder he didn’t commit, and Fagin pulls strings to break him out. Jack slips back into crime to settle the debt, while his relationship with Belle starts cracking. Her mother tightens the pressure, and Inspector Henry Boxer’s arrival only makes things messier.
