Alec Baldwin’s Daughter on What Rules Nepo Babies Can Follow

Earlier this week, Ireland Baldwin, daughter of the Oscar-nominated actor, shared an Instagram video listing five rules that she believes every “nepo baby” should abide by. She captioned the post, “Some of you really aren’t following the rules!”

“Look, if you’re going to be a nepo baby, there are rules that we all have to follow,” Ireland said, beginning her video. “I’m sorry, [but] there are rules. I’ll share them with you.”

She listed her rule number one, saying, “Stop denying it. You can’t deny who you are. Okay? You make us look really silly when you take all that credit. So stop.”

The 30-year-old model continued, “Rule number two: If you have one famous parent, you can cry once a day. If you have two famous parents, you can cry as much as you [want].” She added, “Unlimited,” breaking into a tune.

Ireland then mentioned her third rule. She said, “If you’re going to buy a present for your parent with your parent’s money, you have to lie. You can’t let them know.” She then explained that the gift should be given under the pretense that they bought it with a residual cheque they received from a “Canadian lifetime film,” which their parents might not remember or even seen.

When discussing upbringing under rule number four, the Campus Caller actress advised, “Make sure you come off relatable, okay?” She added, “Say things like, ‘I rode the bus in middle school. I get it.’ Don’t say things like, ‘Man, I used to go to Disneyland all the time as a kid. We got a VIP tour guide, and we were able to bring 30 people. I don’t understand why it’s so expensive now.’”

For rule number five, she said, “You must date at least one person in your lifetime, whose entire family is devastated. I mean, distraught that you two broke up.” In a hilarious twist, she added, “Not because they give a s*** about you, but because they were your parents’ biggest fans more than they led on.”

“So, that is what I’ll leave you with,” she concluded.
