Jimmy Kimmel Blasts Donald Trump For Bad Bunny Halftime Show Review

The late-night host responded directly to the president’s remarks, reading from Trump’s Truth Social post and highlighting what he saw as hypocrisy and performative outrage.

Jimmy Kimmel calls out Donald Trump after halftime show

Jimmy Kimmel criticized Donald Trump on Jimmy Kimmel Live after Trump disparaged Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Reading directly from Trump’s Truth Social post, Kimmel quoted, “The Super Bowl halftime show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America… Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children.” Kimmel responded, “This is a man that paid off a porn star who spanked him with his own face on a magazine… He’s offended by the halftime [show].”

Trump’s post condemned the performance for failing to meet “our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.” Kimmel mocked the outrage, showing a redacted Epstein document and adding, “He’s offended for the children.” He also noted Trump watched Bad Bunny’s show over Turning Point USA’s alternative featuring Kid Rock, saying, “He wanted to make sure he hated him as much as he thought he would, and he did.”

Kimmel remarked on the differing views of the show, saying, “Half of us saw a heartwarming story of immigrants… The other half, it was like the movie 28 Days Later.” He added, “Even Donald Trump didn’t watch the Kid Rock halftime show. He watched Bad Bunny.” Addressing the political aspect, Kimmel said, “If Bad Bunny had stopped by the White House… MAGA would have no problem with Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl.”

Kimmel admitted, “I didn’t know [Bad Bunny’s] lyrics,” then questioned, “But since when do we need to know what the singers are saying?” He cited Michael Jackson’s halftime performance, adding, “33 years later, we still don’t know what the hell that means.” He concluded, “The biggest artist in the world is Bad Bunny, so maybe let Spanish have a turn for once.”
