At Least 10 Spider-Man Villains to Appear in Brand New Day – Report

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to feature the highest number of villains ever seen in a Spider-Man film, according to a new report. The upcoming MCU installment will reportedly include at least ten antagonists, marking a significant expansion of the franchise’s rogues’ gallery.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day rumored to have more than nine villains

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will include over nine villains, a new MCU record.

Insider Alex Perez revealed via Patreon, reported by The Cosmic Circus, that the film features “niche, B- or C-level” villains rather than classic names like the Sinister Six. Confirmed antagonists include Scorpion (Michael Mando), Tombstone (Marvin Jones III), and William Metzger (Tramell Tillman). Metzger leads an anti-mutant militia and targets Jean Grey (Sadie Sink), linking the story to the X-Men.

Additional confirmed appearances include Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the Punisher (Jon Bernthal). Though not labeled as villains, both represent threats to Spider-Man. Hulk is described as “savage,” and the Punisher operates in a “moral gray zone.” Together with nine villains, that brings the total number of adversaries to eleven. According to @MyTimeToShineH, “If we include every single one, then there’s more than 9.”

More obscure villains are rumored to appear in an opening montage. These include Tarantula, Boomerang, 8-Ball, the Jackal (Miles Warren), and the Enforcers (Montana, Fancy Dan, and the Ox), according to insiders @Cryptic4KQual and Daniel Richtman.

Jacey Sink reportedly has a role supporting a rumor that Sara Grey, Jean’s sister, appears. Sara’s death allegedly prompts Damage Control’s investigation of Jean Grey. Director Destin Daniel Cretton stated at CinemaCon: “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”

Tom Holland shared in BTS footage: “It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to release on July 31, 2026.
