Patrick Mahomes’ Dad Arrested Amid Alleged Probation Violation — Report

Patrick Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was reportedly arrested for an alleged violation of his five-year probation sentence. The 55-year old was booked into Smith County Jail in Texas earlier this week on Tuesday morning.

Multiple reports claim that Patrick Mahomes Sr. has been arrested for alleged probation violation

Patrick Mahomes Sr., a former MLB star and father of the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, was arrested for allegedly violating his five-year probation sentence, stemming from his 2024 DWI arrest, per TMZ. The arrest reportedly happened on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 8:52 a.m, and was later taken to Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas.

According to the outlet, the SCRAM alcohol ankle monitor on Mahomes Sr. allegedly reported a high alcohol reading. Subsequently, the authorities made him undergo a urine test twice, once on January 5 and once on January 9. Both tests reportedly returned negative for alcohol content.

On February 3, CBS19 reported that Mahomes Sr. allegedly consumed alcohol on New Year’s. It was later reported to Smith County District Attorney Jacob Putman on January 5, leading to the immediate sample testing. However, since his arrest, the former Boston Red Sox player has filed a motion to revoke his probation completely. The court has not announced a hearing date yet.

While the former pitcher had been arrested more than three times, his latest arrest happened on February 3, 2024. Body-camera footage from the day of the arrest shows the local police stopping Mahomes Sr. over an alleged expired registration. During the encounter, the former Pittsburgh Pirates player admitted to consuming “a couple of beers.” A subsequent test reportedly revealed a blood alcohol content of 0.23 (via PEOPLE).

Later that year, in August 2024, he pleaded guilty for the DWI charges and accepted the five-year probation with strict no-alcohol conditions applied. His probation was accompanied by other conditions, including 160 hours of community service and a substance abuse evaluation through the probation department.
