How Halle Berry Is Fighting Against Ageism in Hollywood

In a new interview with The Cut, Halle Berry recently opened up about her battle against ageism in Hollywood. She touched on how she will fight back, so that no one can erase her. While referring to her character, Sharon Colvin, in the new film, “Crime 101,” Berry explained, “Her character rang so true for me.” She claimed, “You get to this age where you feel like you’re being marginalized, devalued.”

During the interview, Berry said, “You feel it at work,” then added, “You feel it from society.” The “Catwoman” actor claimed, “But I have adamantly decided I am not going to allow myself to be erased.” She revealed, “That’s why I’m on my menopause mission.” Berry continued, “I’m going to be louder than I have ever been.” She also added, “When you get older, you stop getting sized up like a pork chop.”

In the meantime, during the interview, the 59-year-old went even more candid about her fighting spirit. She said, “Another thing nobody really gets about me is that I’ve been a fighter my whole life.” Berry continued, “fighting to be seen for who I really am.” She explained, “Fighting to be taken seriously as an artist,” adding, “Fighting the stigma of beauty.”

Meanwhile, Halle Berry’s new movie, “Crime 101,” is set to debut in theaters in the United States on February 13, 2026.
