Romance Comedy With Kate Hudson & Chris Pratt To Leave Netflix

A popular romantic comedy film featuring Chris Pratt is leaving Netflix soon, giving subscribers a short window to stream it. Bride Wars is one of many film and television titles that will no longer be available on the streamer’s catalog after a few days. The departure stems from Netflix’s frequent efforts to update its library, following the expiration of certain licensing periods for its licensed films and television shows.

Bride Wars is leaving Netflix in less than a week

Bride Wars is leaving Netflix on February 6, 2026. Accordingly, fans have three days to watch the film before its scheduled departure from the OTT platform.

The film was released in theaters on January 9, 2009, and garnered negative critical reception upon release. Nonetheless, it was a commercial success, grossing an estimated $115.8 million against an estimated modest budget of $30 million.

The story, set in New York City, follows two lifelong best friends, Emma and Olivia, who dream of having June weddings at the luxurious Plaza Hotel — after witnessing a wedding there 20 years ago. Their dreams become happy realities after their respective boyfriends propose to them. Subsequently, the women schedule their respective weddings on different dates, but get the same date by mistake.

As a result, their strong friendship and bond turn into a complicated rivalry, sparking a war that sees them attempting to sabotage each other’s respective weddings.

Bride Wars has received poor critical scores and average audience scores on review aggregator websites. The film holds an abysmal 10% rotten score and 51% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, on Metacritic, the film has a “generally unfavorable” Metascore of 24 and a “mixed or average” user score of 4.6.

Gary Winick directed the film from Greg DePaul, Casey Wilson, and June Diane Raphael’s screenplay. In addition, DePaul wrote the film’s story.

Kate Hudson, who co-stars alongside Anne Hathaway in the film, co-produced it with Alan Riche and Julie Yorn.

In addition to Hudson and Hathaway, the film stars Candice Bergen, Bryan Greenberg, Chris Pratt, Steve Howey, Kristen Johnson, Michael Arden, Victor Slezak, Kelly Coffield Park, and John Pankow.
