Jarrell Miller’s Hairpiece Gets Knocked Off During Fight & Fans Can’t Get Enough

Boxing fans were treated to an unexpected twist during Jarrell Miller’s recent fight against Kingsley Ibeh in New York. The moment quickly went viral, with fans both shocked and amused, while Miller took it in stride, even tossing the toupee into the audience himself.

The incident happened when Ibeh landed a series of punches that rattled Miller. One particularly strong hit pushed Miller’s head back, dislodging the front of his hairpiece and revealing a significant bald spot. Without missing a beat, Miller ripped it off completely and hurled it into the crowd, leaving spectators scrambling to snap photos with the rogue hairpiece.

Miller later explained how the toupee ended up in the ring. He had purchased it just two days before, after accidentally washing his hair with ammonia bleach instead of shampoo. “I’m a comedian,” he told reporters following the bout (via ESPN). “You have to make fun of yourself,” he added.

Despite the hairpiece mishap, Miller secured a win via split decision, improving his professional record to 22-1-2. This was his first fight since a draw against Andy Ruiz Jr. in August 2024, following a TKO loss to Daniel Dubois in December 2023. The bout took place on the undercard of Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson at Madison Square Garden, with Stevenson ultimately claiming the WBO and The Ring junior welterweight titles.

Fans on social media were quick to react, praising Miller’s lighthearted approach. Comments ranged from “I’m so glad he took it like a champ,” to “Poor guy. It’s funny, but I hope he sees the humor too,” highlighting appreciation for his ability to laugh at himself in the middle of a high-stakes fight. The moment, absurd as it was, cemented itself as one of the more memorable and humanizing events in recent boxing history.
