At the 68th annual Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles, host Trevor Noah mocked rapper Nicki Minaj’s support for Donald Trump during his opening monologue. After naming several celebrities in attendance, Noah told the audience, “Nicki Minaj is not here.” He added, “She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues.” Noah then impersonated Trump, joking, “Actually, Nicki, I have the biggest ass. I have it. I know they say it’s you, but it’s me.”

Minaj had recently visited Washington D.C., where she praised former President Trump, calling herself his “No. 1 fan.” Speaking at a Treasury Department-hosted summit to promote “Trump Accounts” for newborns, she said, “The hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all.” She continued, “It actually motivates me to support him more, and it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”

Trump praised Minaj at the same event, calling the 43-year-old artist “great.” Her Washington visit also included stops at the Capitol and the White House, and attendance at the world premiere of Melania at the Kennedy Center.

Following Noah’s Grammy remarks, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung responded on social media platform X. “And Trevor Noah is still a giant loser who will be forever known for being unceremoniously kicked off The Daily Show for being a complete psychopath, only to be replaced by a rotating cast of even bigger snowflakes,” Cheung posted.

The Grammy Awards included other notable guests such as Pharrell Williams, Jelly Roll, and Miley Cyrus. The event drew attention not only for its musical celebrations but also for Noah’s political jabs referencing Minaj and Trump.
