Following in the footsteps of Sydney Sweeney in Euphoria Season 3, actress Elle Fanning is switching the playing field from science fiction to adult drama, as she will embody an OnlyFans creator in her next project. The 27-year-old will play the titular character in Apple TV+’s upcoming Margo’s Got Money Troubles series, which also features a star-studded supporting cast.
Elle Fanning tapped to play OnlyFans creator in new series
Fans will witness the Predator: Badlands star essay an OnlyFans creator in Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
Created by David E. Kelley and based on Rufi Thorpe’s 2024 fictional novel of the same name, the show centers on the journey of Margo Millet. The daughter of a Hooters waitress and an ex-professional wrestler, she engages in a steamy affair with her junior college English professor, which ends in her getting pregnant. To support herself, Margo turns to OnlyFans and quickly becomes a star in the adult content industry.
After Apple TV revealed the first photos for the Elle Fanning-led series in December, it also received a fresh look in an exclusive cover by Elle Magazine.
“When you read the book, you just fall in love so much with these characters – they’re so vividly drawn,” said Fanning of Thorpe’s novel. She also gave insight into the opening scene, which begins with a voiceover from her character. “The beginning of a novel is like a first date. That’s what you want. For the author to come right up to you in the dark of your twisted mind and kiss you on the throat,” she noted.
Interestingly, Fanning becomes the second actress to delve into a series centered around OnlyFans, following Sydney Sweeney’s stint in Euphoria Season 3. Apart from her, Margo’s Got Money Troubles also features Michelle Pfeiffer as Margo’s mother, Nick Offerman as Margo’s father, and Nicole Kidman as a former pro-wrestler and friend of Offerman’s character.
“It’s an affirmative story… My read of the book is that there was real social realism with absurdism splashed into it. And that’s just a juicy cocktail,” said Kelley while explaining his show.
Meanwhile, Margo’s Got Money Troubles will debut the first three chapters of its eight-episode slate on Apple TV+ on April 15, 2026.
