Bad Bunny’s New Clip Fuels Retirement Rumors Ahead of Super Bowl Gig

Bad Bunny hinted at an impending retirement ahead of his Super Bowl halftime performance. The Puerto Rican superstar will be the first solo artist of Latin origin to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The 31-year-old was a guest on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Wednesday, January 28.

Bad Bunny fuels retirement buzz ahead of Super Bowl show

Bad Bunny fueled retirement buzz during the “Questionert” segment of The Late Show. He pre-recorded the segment during his July 2025 appearance on the show. However, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as the Super Bowl is now only a couple of days away.

Colbert asked, “Describe the rest of your life in five words.” To which Bunny replied: “happy,” “retired,” “eating,” “tripletas” (a popular Puerto Rican street food sandwich), and “living in Puerto Rico.” Based on his response, he subtly implied that, eventually in the future, he would like to step away from his hugely successful music career.

Fans have reacted to Bunny’s retirement plans in the YouTube comments section. One fan wrote, “Happy Retired Puerto Rico Living is a legit answer. He was so close to Stephen’s number, should have given it to him.” A second fan penned, “Think I just fell in love with Bad Bunny. Hilarious interview. Solid Gold.”

In other news, the “Monaco” singer released a trailer for the performance earlier this month. Bunny dances to his song “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” with people of various races, genders, and ages.

Bunny shared his excitement about headlining the Super Bowl Halftime. He gushed, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history.” (via PEOPLE).

The official press release from Apple Music stated: “The film serves as an open invitation, welcoming the entire world — no matter who you are or where you are from — to join Bad Bunny for his monumental Super Bowl Halftime performance and get excited for the rhythm, unity, and cultural richness that only Bad Bunny can bring to the global stage.”

Fans can also watch the Super Bowl Halftime performance live on NBC, Telemundo, and Peacock.
