Milo Manheim breaks down his prep to play Flynn Rider in the live-action version of Tangled. The actor appeared on Live With Kelly and Mark and shared his excitement with hosts, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, about bringing this charismatic character to life on screen. He gushed, “Yes, Tangled, I’m here for you. I can’t believe that it’s happening. I love this movie.”
The 24-year-old actor detailed his intense prep for the charming outlaw thief who eventually falls for Rapunzel. Manheim confessed that he’s now “learning how to hold my breath for five minutes” and “how to ride a horse right now” before filming begins. Talking about horse riding, he added, “That’s the thing I’m most excited about, whatever y’all need me to do. They’re looking for a giant stallion!”
Moreover, Ripa and Consuelos noted that Manheim is already tall, hence he would require a horse that matches his stature, to which the actor noted, gushing, “They’re going to make these angles work, you guys, movie magic! But I’ve always loved horses. I can’t wait for that.” The Z-O-M-B-I-E-S movie series alum confessed that the Tangled “experience has opened up so many doors.” Additionally, he’s scaling greater heights, literally and figuratively, as the actor is “learning how to rock climb right now” as well.
The actor expressed his gratitude at being cast in one of Disney’s most exciting live-action adaptations. Manheim noted, “I’m meeting so many fantastic people, I get to travel the world.”
In a past interview with Entertainment Weekly, Manheim confessed that Disney informed him and Croft that they had landed their roles just minutes before announcing it to the world.
He remarked, “I found out 10 minutes before the news was released that I’d be playing Flynn. So that day was — I woke up, just like any other day, and by the end of the day… it was beautiful. The world knew, it was great.”
