Sydney Sweeney usually keeps her romantic life very quiet. However, she recently opened up about her ‘private’ relationship with her ex, Jonathan Davino, during her new cover interview with Cosmopolitan. Discussing her relationship with Davino, Sweeney explained, “I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it.” They had sparked dating speculations back in 2018, and their engagement was declared in 2022. However, it was reported that the Euphoria actress “called things off” in March 2025 due to her own “personal reasons.”

Sydney Sweeney also discussed why she chose to keep their relationship on the down low. Talking about this, she added, “I was very private. No one would ever see us. I think it’s important to have some things for myself.” Talking about her love life, she further continued, “I understand that I’m a public person, but I’m still in my 20s. I’m still figuring out love, and it’s hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like.”
Meanwhile, after ending her engagement with Davino, an insider told PEOPLE, “She’s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Sweeney. She’s all about working right now and is very excited about all her projects. They further exclaimed, “But what did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it.”
She also told Cosmopolitan that trying to date since this major breakup hasn’t been easy. She explained how she went through a lot and spent “a few months of just crying my eyes out.” Sweeney also had to work hard to “figure out how to even meet someone new.” Talking about even trying to date, she claimed, “I wake up, and I find out I’m dating a different guy anytime I stand in a room where there’s a single man
