Drake Maye, star quarterback of the New England Patriots, has entered the team’s injury report prior to Super Bowl LX.

One day shy of their Super Bowl LX practice, the New England Patriots announced that Drake Maye would have had limited participation in Wednesday’s practice due to a right shoulder injury.

As per league protocol, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks were mandated to submit projected injury reports by Wednesday. The league required the update before Thursday’s first practice.

Drake Maye admitted to having bumps and bruises after the AFC Championship win over the Denver Broncos, where he landed hard on his right shoulder following a tackle by Talanoa Hufanga. However, he played down concerns, saying his teammates are also battling through injuries this deep into the season. Head coach Mike Vrabel echoed this, stating no player was 100% healthy this time of year.

If Maye sits out any practice repetitions, nine-year veteran Joshua Dobbs is likely to be the backup, with Tommy DeVito waiting as the third-string option.

Drake Maye was asked about a shoulder injury on WEEI Tuesday. “I’m feeling good,” the 23-year-old said. “Going to get some extra rest. I really don’t think it was from the game, but just the build-up from throwing — this is what, including training camp, 30 weeks of straight of throwing, four days a week. It can add up. I got some extra rest, feeling good, and ready to go for the Super Bowl.”

The Patriots’ starting linebacker Robert Spillane and veteran edge rusher Harold Landry also joined quarterback Drake Maye on the injury report. Spillane, the team’s leading tackler, exited the AFC Championship Game with an ankle injury. Meanwhile, Landry has been managing a knee issue since the regular season.
