LeBron James Slams Belichick’s Hall of Fame Snub as ‘Disrespectful’

LeBron James laid into Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame snub in a recent post on X. For those unversed, former New England Patriots coach failed to garner sufficient votes in his first year of eligibility. Belichick required 40 votes from the 50-person panel of media members and other Hall of Famers. Understandably, NFL stars like Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes have also voiced their frustration, and NBA star LeBron James has done the same.

LeBron James calls out Bill Belichick Hall of Fame snub

LeBron James slammed Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame snub in a tweet. He wrote, “Man there’s no way I read that right! Right? Ain’t no WAY Bill Belichick ain’t 1st Ballot HOF!! That’s IMPOSSIBLE, EGREGIOUS, and quite frankly DISRESPECTFUL!” Unsurprisingly, his tweet has garnered 86K likes, 6.4K retweets, 1.4K bookmarks, and 1.7K comments.

Fans rallied in James and Belichick’s support in the comments section. Notably, the 73-year-old won six Super Bowls as head coach of the New England Patriots. Moreover, he has won two trophies with the New York Giants. Belichick has more Super Bowl rings than anyone in history (via CNN).

One fan agreed with James and wrote, “It’s the most egregious thing I’ve seen, it’s as if they snubbed you from 1st ballot HOF. I dare them to ever do such a thing, just thinking of a fantasy world where they did that to you has me grasping at everything… I’m angry even typing that, even uttering that into existence. This needs to be fixed asap!!”

A second fan commented, “Bro, you read it RIGHT. 6 rings, 333 wins, SNUBBED?! Polian Colts revenge for SB41 is the pettiest HOF plot twist ever. Bill’s GOAT status is LAUGHING at this disrespect!” Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tweeted, “Insane… don’t even understand how this could be possible.”

If Belichick had not snubbed by the Hall of Fame, he would have become only the fifth head coach to make it into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. As per ESPN, Belichick reportedly asked an associate, “Six Super Bowls isn’t enough? What does a guy have to do?”
