On January 28, Henry Cavill posted two images from his upcoming sci-fi movie, “Highlander”. He captioned it: “Happy First Look for Highlander! This has been quite the journey for me, which I’ll tell you all about when the time is right, but it’s a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy.”

Both images show the character in different settings, with Henry Cavill wearing a long jacket and messy hair. While the first photo seems like an image from the film, the second one is a behind-the-scenes photo. In the second photo, the Superman actor is holding a sword inside what seems to be a church.

The photos have gone viral and have more than 1.4 million likes on Instagram at the time of writing. It has also received thousands of comments, with fans expressing their excitement.

The popular illustrator Kode Abdo, aka bosslogic, commented, “Dope look! Can’t wait for this one!” Meanwhile, another said, “You’re about to make a whole new generation yell ‘THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE’ in public.” A user even commented, “Daddy is back!!”

The new Highlander is a reboot of the 1986 movie of the same name. The story follows Connor MacLeod, a 16th-century Scottish warrior mortally wounded in battle. But he survives his injuries, revealing him to be an immortal. After accusing him of witchcraft, his clan exiles him. Unfortunately, his past catches up to him in the modern world.

The movie later spawned several sequels, two television series, an animated film, an anime film, and other literary versions. Despite becoming such a popular franchise, the original movie has stoodout the most among the fans.

John Wick’s director, Chad Stahelski, has helmed the reboot with a script from John Petro and a screenplay by Ryan J. Condal, Michael Finch, and Kerry Williamson. The movie will also feature Dave Bautista, Russell Crowe, Jeremy Irons, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Marisa Abela, and Kevin McKidd in prominent roles.
