Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are in the conversation after a wholesome moment in their relationship. The Harlem rapper opened up in a new video sit-down interview. Rocky said his partner shifted his view of “modern women”. He linked that change to loyalty and family.

The superstar couple usually stays private. However, the timing is loud right now. Rocky is releasing a new album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” and reflecting on a recent trial, which he won. The Fenty Beauty founder is also seen supporting her husband at the album’s listening party in NYC.

A$AP Rocky talks relationship with Rihanna in Esquire interview

According to Esquire’s “What I’ve Learned” video posted today, A$AP Rocky called Rihanna his equal. He said, “She’s my match”. He stressed it is about fit and effort, “If it didn’t match, it wouldn’t work.” Rocky also framed their relationship as a daily choice. “I made it cool to just be with one lady”, supporting monogamy, which is found to be rare in the hip-hop circles.

Next, he went straight at the “modern women” stigma behind the headline. “A woman who loves you will protect you,” adding, “It’s moral support to the 10th power.” Meanwhile, he admitted he once absorbed the usual framing. “Modern women is portrayed”, Rocky said, “as like sex appeal”. But he said Rihanna helped rewrite that lens. He said, “I see a lot of my mom in her,” indicating a more nurturing angle of the singer-businesswoman.

Then he tied that support to parenting and public pressure. “I try to be able to like take my children to school”, he said, adding, “Pick them up”. The 37-year-old added he aims for “bath time, dinner time, and bedtime.” At the same time, he said fatherhood changed him. “Being a girl dad just brings out”, he said, “this self vulnerability”.

After that, in the interview, A$AP Rocky widened to career. He said the case helped him drop “survivors remorse,” adding, “And I don’t feel guilty no more.” Finally, he previewed the latest album “Don’t Be Dumb”. The record producer’s fourth studio album becomes his third project to top the Billboard 200.
